Nordic Match organized a panel discussion on June 11th together with Finnish Business Council in Shanghai and Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China. The sold-out event was held at Nordic Match’s office in Shanghai and attended by executives from Nordic companies, while Nordic-based participants could join through webinar format.

The online and offline event was moderated by Nordic Match Associate Klaus Björkgren, joined by Wärtsilä Managing Director Jonny Nylund, DLA Piper Shanghai Partner Stewart Wang, and Nordic Match Partner Tony Wang.

The topic, Mergers and Acquisitions between Nordics and China, followed by discussion how Nordic companies can drive inorganic growth initiatives in China. And the result was a break-down of the inbound M&A process in China, while addressing the topic from a synergy and control point of view, followed by a framework to evaluate go-ahead decisions.

The panelists discussed the topic from practical angles of finding the most suitable target companies to post merger integration challenges, and the outcome was a dynamic discussion together with the audience, which continued long after the event with drinks and food.
