On September 7th Nordic Match participated in the second BritCham Shanghai annual Sustainability & ESG Business Summit.

The event gathered together government representatives, British and Chinese business leaders, and thought leaders to discuss the latest trends and ESG best practices in China and around the world.

Nordic Match Partner Tony Wang joined as a panelist for the panel discussion about ESG for asset management and what ideal ESG performances look like to investors?

Tony Wang, Partner at Nordic Match said:

ESG is still a relative new investment theme globally, while China will be play an important role in ESG. China stands for about 11% of global GDP while producing 27% of global emissions. With China achieving carbon peak 2030 and neutrality 2060, I expect a major race in raising local ESG as ESG component will gradually go from good-to-have to must have in order to attract LPs.

With this year’s theme “New Horizons: The Era of ESG ”, as ESG becomes more central to company operations, ESG considerations are now playing a key role at every step of the M&A process as well. Nordic Match is excited to play a role and promote the importance of ESG within M&A to grow in the years to come.
