Nordic Match interviewed by leading Finnish newspaper
Nordic Match Partner Tony Wang discussed China’s changing market conditions with Finland’s leading business newspaper, Kauppalehti.
Together with Handelsbanken, Neste and Nurminen Logistics, the experts agreed that despite trade tensions and slowing economic growth, China offers vast growth opportunities for Nordic companies.
China remains an attractive market for Finnish companies. Some companies have increased capacity in the market, while others have started exploring growth opportunities through mergers and acquisitions.
Tony Wang said:
Finnish companies are increasingly interested to acquire Chinese companies. Previously China was seen as a low-cost production base, but companies are now increasingly interested to produce locally for the domestic market.
Due to recent trade tensions, some international companies have started shifting capacity into lower cost production bases in Southeast Asia. Finnish companies are still doing relatively well in China and have not followed this trend.
