• What have you learned from the internship? 

For me, the internship at Nordic Match has been incredibly rewarding.

Firstly, engaging with clients from diverse regions has broadened my understanding of global markets and enhanced my ability to navigate cross-border transactions effectively.

Secondly, participating in live M&A transactions has provided invaluable hands-on experience, sharpening my analytical skills and providing insights into the complexities of deal execution.

Thirdly, I’ve learned the significance of accountability and professionalism, focusing on delivering high-quality work while prioritizing the needs and perspectives of our clients.

This experience has been invaluable in shaping my career in finance.

• How do you think you’ve developed personally and professionally during this time? 

Personally, this internship has boosted my adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills, thanks to diverse clients and cross-border work at Nordic Match, and supportive colleagues.

Professionally, I’ve sharpened my analytical, modeling, and business skills, gaining insights into project research, cold calling, proposal writing, and due diligence. The collaborative team environment and knowledge-sharing culture have accelerated my growth at Nordic Match.

• How has your internship at Nordic Match influenced your career goals? 

During my internship at Nordic Match, my interest in the M&A market grew significantly. Engaging in international deals and collaborating with clients from diverse regions expanded my horizons, highlighting opportunities beyond the Chinese market and aligning M&A with my long-term career objectives.

Additionally, I gained insights into the complexities of cross-border M&A, understanding the challenges posed by diverse cultures and legal frameworks. Looking ahead, I aim to deepen my expertise by exploring areas like law and accounting to pursue my professional aspirations effectively.

• What are you most proud of achieving during your time here?

During my internship at Nordic Match, I was deeply involved in various live deals and took on tasks I had never attempted before. These experience brought me new insights, accumulations, and personal growth.

For instance, one of the tasks I encountered was conducting large-scale company interviews. Realizing the importance of preparation, I dove into compiling industry knowledge documents and refining conversation scripts beforehand. During the cold call, I meticulously assessed data authenticity and tailored my approaches to swiftly build trust with interviewees. Through continuous self-improvement, I not only successfully conducted the interviews but also played a pivotal role in identifying potential targets for our deals. This experience not only sharpened my skills in communication, data analysis, and project management but also highlighted my ability to thrive in new and dynamic situations, fueling my passion for M&A.
